If you are trying to design a garment, make sure beforehand what measurements you need. Here are some pointers on the various measurements you can take for sewing:
– Chest: run the measuring tape around, from the back to the middle of the chest.
– Chest: measure where the crease is below the armpits.
– Arms: pass the measuring tape on both arms, going from the length of the shoulder to the back of the hand.
– Waist: women should be measured at the circumference located one finger above the navel and men one finger below the navel.
– Abdomen: is located between the region of the navel and the hip bones, the points of measuring tape should be placed between the middle of the two.
– Hips: take the measurement by the thigh bone, as this shows the boundary of the hip region.
– Butt: measure around you body, at the bulkiest part of your buttocks.
– Legs: measure from the hip bone to the heel.
